Yaksta who recently teamed up with United Kingdom-based Maximum Sound Production for the summer released a new song on August 20, Fete Life which is available on all digital platforms. The song is part of the rhythm-juggling label Afrojam 21.
“My intention is to continue to build out my catalog with a diverse body of music, from social commentary, reality, roots to feel-good music, because that’s the kind of person that I am. I make music as it comes to me and that sometimes depends on the mood or environment that I’m in or even the inspiration I may receive from a particular incident or situation,” stated Yaksta.
Kemaul M. Martin, aka Yaksta (Bush Lawd) is a Jamaican singer,
Producer, artist, and actor. He rose to great prominence from his latest hit
single, St. Mary, which was released in May 2019, by his label
WussMusikk and Coproduced by Marlon Easy from JusEasy Production,
Yaksta’s personal producer.
In 2018 he released songs including Home and Boogie Woogie, and Te
Amor (remix) featuring Mr. Vegas and Topo La Maskara in 2020, which gave him an underground following. However, in March, he shot to national prominence with the breakout single Ambition. The music video has surpassed six million views on YouTube.
At the end of 2019, Yaksta, found himself on tour with Live Wyya, and it
was then that he also did a lot of introspection, he said. “It was at the time
I was starting to do the gun tunes or lewd lyrics, and I just felt myself and
my soul drifting from that niche to something more refreshing and real or
truthful to me,” Yaksta revealed, adding that all that was happening was a
the reinvention of Yaksta.
Now, his Bush Lawd/Bush Nation brand has been forecasted to create a
storm on the world music stages with tracks like Ambition, released on
February 26, named by reggae and dancehall critics as the hottest songs of
2021 next to Nation Boss’ Humans. Ironically, Yaksta also has a song
titled Humans, which he used to close off 2020.
