Since the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) which is commonly known as the Recording Academy has announced the January 31,2021 Grammy Awards date for its 63rd celebration, the music industry has been impatient for another special date, which is nomination day. November 24, 2020 is the date when nominees for the awards will be selected. Musicians, producers, recording engineers, record labels and other musical professionals were relieved when the second big date was revealed.
All nominees in the 84 categories will be unveiled during this year’s hourlong live stream, starting at 9:00 a.m PT/ 12:00 p.m ET an Grammy.com. The Grammy Awards which has been marked as one of the biggest nights in history. Included in the 84 categories is the Best Reggae Album, which combines both reggae and dancehall. The eligibility period ran from September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020 which determines if an album/single is eligible for this year’s awards. A number of albums were sent, however, only five albums will be nominated. The albums released include: Got To Be Tough by Toots & The Maytals; Back A Yard by Wailing Souls; Higher Place by Skip Marley; Healing by Tarrus Riley and In Search Of Lost Time by Protoje. Koffee won the Grammy in 2020 for her EP, Rapture.
