Due to the highly infectious respiratory disease known as the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Entertainers are struggling to cope financially. The effects of this pandemic has prompted Karen Smith ( musician) and President of The Jamaica Federation of Musicians and Affiliates Union (JFMAU) to meet with Entertainment and Culture Minister Olivia “Babsy” Grange to discuss possible financial relief for members of the entertainment fraternity and hotel industry. The JFMAU will work with Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA), Jamaica Association of Vintage Artistes and Affiliates (JAVAA), and the Negril Entertainment Association (NEA) to secure necessary benefits for their members for equipment and living expenses.
