The Jamaica Festival Song Competition started in 1966 and for the first time this year the Jamaican population will be able to text in and vote for their favorite song. The finalist in the 2020 Jamaican Festival Song Competition include:

Singing group, L.U.S.T (Wave Di Flag)
2 times JFS winner, O’neill “Nazzle Man” Scott (Jamaica Nice)
William “Xtra Bigg” Nembhard (Jamaica a Paradise)
Digicel Rising Star 2009 winner, Shuga (One People)
Reggae artiste, Freddie McGregor (Tun up Di Sound)
Odonald “Radix OD” Haughton (The Place to be)
The Jamaica festival Song Competition is used to ignite and bring the country together and promote a feeling of unity and hope among our people. The usual road shows and performances by finalists will not be held this year. Instead, radio and television stations have been involved and the use of social media to bring the finalist and their songs to the public. The presentation show streamed live from the TVJ studio and on Youtube yesterday Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 8:00 pm. The winning Jamaica Festival Song for 2020 will be decided on July 26, 2020 by popular vote.
The song competition has been a platform for aspiring artiste and has unearthed talent island wide and for seasoned artistes to drive their talents. The songs are now available on Spotify, Deezer, Apple music, Amazon music and Tidal streaming services.
