RISING reggae singer Koffee has inked big deal with one of the top Los Angeles-based Creative Arts Agency (CCA) for representation in North and South America, as stated by pollstar.com.
The 19-year-old, managed by Tammi Chang and Pierre Bost, officially signed the contract last Wednesday.
The Talent and Sports Agency has worked with numerous big names in the music and entertainment industry, names such as Kayne West, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Arianna Grande and Mariah.
Koffee has enjoyed number of successes since the release of her five track EP Rapture. The set, released by Promise Land Recordings/ Columbia Records on March 14, 2019 climbed its way to the top of the Billboard Reggae Albums chart in the same month.
This release made her the youngest Jamaican to make number one on the chart. Formerly, the youngest person to top the Billboard Reggae Albums chart was Brooklyn-born Jamaican rapper Lil Vicious. He was 15 years when his debut album for Epic Records, Destination smash the number one spot in 1994.
In March, Koffee (given name Mikayla Simpson) won the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association Award for Song of the Year (Toast).
The song is also featured in Jordan Peele’s new horror film “Us”.
Koffee not long ago won three International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) for the categories: Best Female Vocalists, Best Teen Entertainer; and Best New Entertainer.
In October of this year she is set to perform at the Austin City Limits Music Festival, date is yet to be confirmed.
