Jamaican reggae artiste Chezidek, whose birth-name is Desbert Johnson finds his spot to bloom in Africa. Chezidek grew up in St Ann, Jamaica and is best known for his hit singles such as: Because I’m Black, Can’t Hear Must Feel, Inna Di Road, Leave De Trees and so much more. He also released albums like Hello Africa which is Number One on the South Florida Foundation Network Chart. Hello Africa was released in late July by Tad’s International Record. Considered as his most hard-hitting 13-song album now, the coronavirus has taken a toll on Chezidek’s music career as he is unable to do tours.
His music has earned alot of ratings in places such as South Florida and the tri-state area and Europe; which is his strongest market. Because I’m Black, his lead single was released by the Independent Tad’s International Record which started doing promotion in December. March was released weeks before Hello Africa. His publicist is believed to have said that he chose July 23 to release Hello Africa because it is the birthday of former Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie I who is of a great significance to the Rastafarian community.
