Current female deejay sensation, Macka Diamond, the first Jamaican

female deejay to be added to the prestigious roster of Reggae artistes on

the European based Greensleeves Record label held the launch of her

debut album, “Money O”, on Tuesday April 25,2006 at the Weekenz

Bistro and Bar situated on the Constant Spring Road.

The event was well attended by representatives of the national media.

There were also a host of people who work in the music fraternity on

hand to show their support.

After the formalities “Macka” performed several tracks from the album,

some of which included “Lexus and Benz”, and her popular hit,

“Bun Him” assisted by Black-Er.  She also did a dance number, a sort

of ‘celebration whine.’  After this she took off her glasses and addressed

the gathering.  She expressed her gratitude to all by saying, “Macka is

down to earth an’ me nah show off pon Jamaican people cause a oonu

put me here.”  Macka Diamond had very special thing to say about

Bounty Killer and Capleton.  She publicly thanked them for the assistance

they gave her when thing were not going well for her.

Macka invited Capleton to join her on stage for a hug.  He obliged her  request and also did a song in her honour titled, “Top A Tings.”

Macka Diamond then introduced Bounty Killer by asking her long time

‘paring p’ Queen Paula if she think he would join her on stage, he did,  congratulated her and also did a brief performance stint.  Next she called

on Queen Paula who also performed with her.

Quite a few other artiste gave brief performances including Lady G,

Action K, Alozade and Aidonia.  The event was indeed a success.
