'Twin Of Twins' Paul and Parick Gaynor

“I know that twins look alike, think alike and sometimes even act alike, but what I’ve never heard of Twins having vocals of more than 5 different persons.”

The exceptional pair of young talent ‘Twin of Twins’ as their stage name connotes, is indeed a rose among thorns. They have been on the musical scene for a few years, writing songs for Jamaica’s top entertainers such as Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, and Elephant Man, along with a few underground albums which did exceptionally well, that the boys decided it’s time to take it to another level.

The compilation covers controversial conversations in interview format, with celebrities such as Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Louis Farrakhan, Renéto Adams and talk show host/poet Mutabaruka. The voice imitations are dead on, giving statements and answers in a typical ‘Twin of Twins’ interview. The album consists of 5 songs woven between the exclusives, featuring artistes such as Bounty Killer, Jay and Mitch.

The album launch at the Village Cafe on December 8, 2004, drew out patrons, media and music executives such as Mr. Desmond Young, President of the Jamaica Federation of Musicians and Mrs. Trefina Asiedu, Reggae Times Managing Editor.  ‘Stir It Up’ popularity comes as a result of the twins’ ability to relate with ordinary people, at the same time as they demonstrate a complex understanding of the intricate political and social structure of Jamaica. The brothers do all this and still manage to be extremely funny, and at times reflective and poignant.

The past ten years have been a long journey for the ‘twins’ Patrick “Curly Lox” and Paul “Tu Lox” Gaynor, and now they are on the verge of stardom in Jamaica and the world. Although ‘Stir It Up Vol. 4’ was never officially released, the twins claimed it was the #1 burned CD in Jamaica and thousands of copies have been made from the unreleased original.

As a result of their mother’s determination and their older brothers encouragement, the twins were able to endure the violent cycle of ghetto life to pursue their god given talent to entertain.

The Twin have formed their own record label to produce/distribute ‘Stir It Up Vol. 5’, working with their partners VP records for overseas distribution, Lesa Muzic and Henry K whose last three projects all hit the Billboard Charts.

In a press release obtained from the ‘Twin of Twins’, RT quote “Although they speak with ‘many voices,’ the reason Twins connect with such large audiences is because they speak with ‘one voice.’ Their true voice is the voice of the common man on the street asking honest questions and just wanting the dignity of a truthful answer.”

What’s For The Future?

After the successful marketing of the album ‘Stir It Up Vol.5’ the guys will properly repackage and produce ‘Vol. 4’, which was released previously underground. They will also begin working on their next album (Not another Stir It Up Vol, but other expressions of their talents).
