After being disqualified from the Digicel's Rising Stars competitions,   judges: Anthony Miller, Nadine Sutherland, and AJ Brown deliberated and immediately decided to ask Cavan to return. Cavan re-entered only to claim the top spot and scored for himself fans, the nick name ‘Come Back Cavan’, prizes, and a recording contract.

Cavan released his first single and video entitled 'Pain' at Cuddy’z Sports Bar, New Kingston on November 18, 2004. The budding artiste also shared the glory of the debut 'Singles Collection Vol 1' album, which was also released that evening with his fellow Rising Stars artistes Renee, Diana, and Candy; who are also featured on the collection.

'Pain' is an original peice written by Cavan, which he introduced during the competition. The Video begins with the artiste surrounded by pairs of hanging shoes in a typical Jamaican market setting. No doubt, the idea came from the fact that Cavan, before making his debut on the series Rising Star, worked as a shoes salesman in the local market in Portland where he also grew up and resides.

Cavan will continue his artiste development with Gee Jam Studios untill December 2004. For the New Year 2005, there is work, work and more work, as his International promotion begins.

Look out for Cavan "The Portland Native" single on the airwaves and his video on local channels.

“You don’t feel my pain,

And you don’t hear my cry,

You don’t see the tears that are falling from my eyes”
