Usain Bolt’s Statue To The World !

 

December 3, 2017 will be the day when the unveiling of Usain Bolt statue will take place. The statue acts a small tribute to the greatest sprinter the world has ever seen and Olivia Grange, Minister of Entertainment, Sport, Gender, Culture proclaims that in rain or shine the stature of Usain Bolt will be revealed on Sunday, December 3 at Independence Park of Jamaica.

The special service organized for the unveiling of the statue which will begin at 5:30pm, and will include many distinguished guests such as the Honourable Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica, along with Olivia Grange, Minister of Entertainment, Sport, Gender, Culture local and international noble figures in sports, which include Victor Lopez, president of the North American Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association and Lord Coe, president of International Association of Athletics Federations.
 Basil Watson is the artiste behind the legendary sculpture and Usain’s piece is actually only one out of four star Jamaican track and field athletes that have been commissioned by the ministry under the Jamaica 55 Legacy Programme. Other sculptures that Mr. Watson will be completing will include Asafa Powell, Shelly-Ann Fraser- Price, and and Veronica Campbell-Brown.
